Botletics™ SIM7000 Shield Ranked Among Top 5 in 2018!

A big shout out to the folks at Hologram.io for listing the Botletics SIM7000 cellular shield as one of the top 5 cellular IoT dev boards and shields of 2018! Check out the article here.

The Arduino shield allows for easy implementation of the latest LTE CAT-M and NB-IoT cellular technology and has integrated GPS, temperature sensor, and USB debugging capabilities. A complementary global Hologram SIM card is also included with each purchase. The shield is going into full production this year to meet the product's growing popularity among the community but is available now for pre-orders, so stay tuned for more details!

Announcing SIM7500 Shield for Arduino!

Hey everyone, I'm pleased to reveal my latest project, the SIM7500 LTE CAT-1 cellular shield for Arduino! It's great for giving a project phone capabilities including voice calls, SMS, LTE data, and GPS tracking! It also comes with a temperature sensor for debugging and other useful applications and is a useful alternative to the SIM7000 LTE CAT-M/NB-IoT shield in cases where only traditional LTE is available. The module also has 3G fallback (and 2.5G/2G depending on the version) so it should work pretty much anywhere!

I'm currently in the process of testing and fully documenting the shield and you can find the latest documentation on Github

When everything's tested I'll have it for sale here on my website.

Looking forward to more awesome projects this year!

SIM7000 Shield Live on Indiegogo!

What's up guys!

It's midnight here and I just launched the Indiegogo campaign for my shield. Check it out here and be sure to share the link on social media because every view counts for me! Contributions are also greatly appreciated and will help me continue my efforts. I plan on fulfilling all orders regardless of how much I raise and I have everything ready to go with a contract manufacturer in the US.

Anyway, thanks for your support and I hope this will positively benefit the community!

Hologram.io SIM Cards!

Today I chatted with Hologram.io developers Ben Strahan and Chris Gammell and I'm super excited to tell you that for my Indiegogo campaign launching on Feb 1st all units delivered after the campaign will include a free Hologram SIM card and a promo code for $40 of free Hologram store credit exclusively for the campaign! Oh, and the price of the kits will be $89 (USD) instead of the $99 I originally stated!

If you haven't already, check out Hologram's site and developer plan because they have some really cool deals. All my tutorials use their SIM card because it's global, has 1MB free data per month, and super easy to use with a full API documentation and support so I definitely recommend it!

As a quick update on my progress on producing the shields, I'm working with a contract manufacturer in the US to produce more boards for the Indiegogo campaign pre-orders. Unfortunately there won't be any early-bird units available at the start of the campaign because they're all sold out! That's good news and bad news for some of you waiting for one out there, but I'll attempt to console you by saying that I might even start production before the campaign ends if I see enough demand, so please share to anyone you think might be interested!

Anyway, it's been a great ride and let's make this campaign even more awesome to spread the love of LTE and IoT!  <3

Announcing SIM7000 LTE/NB-IoT Shield on Indiegogo!

Hi everyone, I'm excited to announce that I will be launching the Indiegogo campaign for the SIM7000 LTE/NB-IoT shield on 1 February 2018 so mark your calendars! You can check out the pre-campaign page here and be sure to share it with your friends!

Early-bird orders will ship out immediately but I will have limited supplies on a first-come-first-served basis. The price for any version of the shield will be $99 (USD).

Looking forward to the new year and stay warm!

NB-IoT Shield for Arduino Underway!

I'm currently in the process of developing a completely open-source LTE CAT-M/NB-IoT shield for Arduino and putting together a comprehensive wiki on how to get started! The shield can be painlessly adapted to NB-IoT for many other countries and is one of the first NB-IoT Arduino shields to ever be released (if not the first *open-source* one) so don't miss out!

Introducing: Solid-State Sidekick

The Sidekick Relay Module is a high-power solid-state relay module that allows users to control almost any AC appliance simply by plugging in the controlled appliance! Because its low control voltage the Sidekick is the perfect companion for any 3.3V or 5V microcontroller and using it in conjunction with the Reflowduino Basic forms the perfect DIY reflow oven control kit!

Introducing: Reflowduino

Reflowduino is a completely open-source, Arduino-compatible reflow oven controller that allows practically anyone to build their own reflow oven! Learn more about Reflowduino on the official Github page and stay tuned for announcements on an upcoming Indiegogo campaign!
